Dr. Anna Laura Recine

PT, DPT, CMPT, ATC

Dr. Anna Laura Recine is a certified manual physical therapist, pelvic floor therapist, athletic trainer, and dance rehabilitation specialist, who recently opened her private practice in Bronxville, NY. 

 She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training in 2014, and earned her Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy in 2017 from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT. Dr. Recine then began a meticulous 3-year manual therapy program through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy, earning the title of "Certified Manual Physical Therapist" in May 2020.

In 2021, she continued her education by participating in Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute's renowned Pelvic Floor Series. Dr. Recine is proficient in performing external and internal pelvic floor examinations, and assists women in preparation for labor and postpartum recovery.

Dr. Recine is also the resident physical therapist for Rye Ballet Conservatory in Rye, NY since the fall of 2021.

Dance Rehabilitation

Dr. Recine's 15-year background in dance drives her passion for movement. She spent the last 4 years in Manhattan, where she was rigorously trained and mentored by well-known orthopedic physical therapist Ms. Michelle Rodriguez, to work backstage and in office with pre-professional and professional dancers. This experience allowed Dr. Recine to work with dancers from prestigious companies including New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theatre, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. She has worked with students from pre-professional dance programs including The School of American Ballet, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School, New York Theatre Ballet, Manhattan Youth Ballet, Ballet Academy East and Peridance Center.

She had the opportunity to also work with performers in Broadway shows including Moulin Rouge, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Carousel, Anastasia, and The Lion King.

Rye Ballet Conservatory

During the fall of 2021, Dr. Recine became the resident physical therapist at Rye Ballet Conservatory (RBC) located in Rye, NY. She works side-by-side collaborating with director and professional ballerina Ms. Ashlee Knapp Stewart.

Dr. Recine performs orthopedic evaluations and provides dance specific rehabilitation to help RBC dancers recover from their injuries. She educates the staff, students and parents on the importance of proper body mechanics, to ensure safety while executing intrinsic ballet movements.

She also assists in evaluating pointe shoe readiness for the rising level dancers.
